Beginning in the early 1900s, when electricity first became available in many American towns, homeowners began installing solar panels on their homes to generate electricity from the sun. The first production models were released in 1971 and 1973 respectively. Solar panel quote history: "If you want to save money on your energy bill, the best way to do it is to install a solar power system."

Lakewood, Colorado is a small town located in the eastern Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now Lakewood were Native Americans who hunted and gathered game near the present day townsite on the edge of Longmont and Aspen Reservoirs. They named their land "Lakewood" because of how clear and blue the water looked from their nearby settlements. In 1868, Jepson Geological Survey Map shows that there was a small settlement called "Lakewood" between Longmont and Aspen Lakes but it only lasted for a few months before being abandoned due to lack of resources. By 1870, all evidence suggests that human activity had started to develop in this area which included building homes, clearing land for farming, playing football (a sport still kept extremely popular today), and using fireplaces to cook food over an open fire. In 1872 Arapaho Indian Chief John Sykes came into contact with European settlers when he wrongfully trespassed on private property while prospecting in northeast Lakewood County. He argued with white men until he was fatally shot by one of them as they walked away from his claim (later verified as history). This event marked the beginning of peaceful dealings between Europeans and Native Americans in these parts of Colorado. In 1886, German immigrant Johann Wilhelm Koller erected a cabin within sight of today's downtown Lakewood after spending many years prospecting for gold near Aspen Reservoirs. During World War I, United States troops stationed at Fort Niobrara passed through this area on their way southward towards Telluride Mountain Basecamp during July 1915-August 1916 as part of Operation Highjump; they discovered significant deposits of gold at Sankt Anthony Pass along US Highway 6 about 20 miles southwest of modern day Lakewood Village limits (today's Longmont).[2] Although there are no physical remains located within or around present-day Lake wood Village limits dating back to 1865,[3] oral histories recounting early pioneer days do suggest that some members (~50%) ethnic Germans may have remained behind following American withdrawal from Europe during World War I.[4][5] On October 2nd 1905 two women working for Workman & Company opened up shop inside what is now known as The Bank Depot on current Day Avenue NW across from Great Western Casino[6] One local resident recalled watching Woman voterAlice Potterhead(1886-1966) help carry ballots into precincts throughout western Colo., then running back outside later helping count ballots herself – she even taught high school students how tovote! Alice soon becameknown as “the mother’s girl” due to her efforts tirelessly volunteering her time & providing education opportunities for others 😀[7][8]: https://www.webmdcentralusa.com/voting/america/statehood-and-the Voting Rights Act Of 1965? click here: https://www2a2a1e3d771f21afbcdcfeabdc5ddcfcbbb1&q= Alice%20Potterhead#ixzz3LKzNxFtM
